This May, Sotheby’s is excited to present Master Paintings and 19th Century European Paintings & Works of Art. Both live auctions feature an array of paintings spanning periods, genres, and geographies, many of which come from private collections. The two sales include a variety of works by French artists, including Jean-Baptiste Pillement, Jean-Etienne Liotard, Louis-Leopold Boilly, William Bouguereau, and Antoine-Jean Gros, among others.
A tour will be led for the Young Patrons by Sotheby’s Old Master Paintings specialists Daria Foner and Emma Woodberry.
