On view at the Musée de la Légion d’Honneur through March 2, 2025, Les gardiens du geste (The Guardians of Gesture) features 41 portraits of craftspeople who worked on the restoration of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, painted by artist Laurence Bost. The exhibition pays tribute to the artisans who helped bring this architectural jewel back to life.
Laurence Bost will welcome us and lead this visit. For almost a year, she was able to observe the work of the craftspeople at close quarters, both on-site and in the workshops, and she paints with finesse the gestures and materials used by the various trades involved in this extraordinary project.
The visit will be followed by a moment of sharing over a galette des rois.
This is a French-language visit.
