Join the FHS New York Chapter to explore the history, significance, and rare beauty of La Pausa, the French-Mediterranean villa designed and built by Coco Chanel which later housed an impressive collection of impressionist, post-impressionist and modern art assembled by Wendy and Emery Reves. La Pausa entertained and inspired notable figures ranging from Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dalí during Chanel’s era to Winston Churchill during the Reves’ time.

The villa was reborn in Dallas in the 1980s in order to house the Reves’ incredible art collection, which entails seventy paintings representing Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Monet, Renoir, and van Gogh, 300 pieces of Chinese export porcelain, 150 silver objects, and more. Olivier Meslay, Hardymon Director of the Clark Art Institute, will discuss La Pausa’s past, its legacy, and its connection to one of the world’s most recognizable and renowned fashion brands.

This event will take place at a private club in Manhattan, address information to be furnished upon request.
