The magic of Vezelay’s Basilica is world renowned. For more than 900 years, it has attracted and given inspiration to millions: kings, queens, presidents, artists, pilgrims, and visitors from all over the globe. Dedicated to Mary Magdalene, the basilica is linked to the legend of her arrival in the South of France in the 1st century, and the crypt is purported to hold a relic of this cherished saint. Legend and mystery have surrounded this beautiful building ever since its construction.
