Internship Description
The purpose of this internship is to offer graduate students in art history or decorative arts an opportunity to gain practical curatorial experience within one of the most remarkable historic house museums in the United States.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Curatorial, Collections, and Archives & Special Collections teams on a variety of research and documentation projects. Tasks may include assisting with exhibition preparation, cataloguing objects, reviewing archival materials, and contributing to ongoing publication and collection management initiatives. Interns will also have opportunities to meet with museum professionals, pursue independent research, and explore Washington D.C.’s cultural institutions.
This internship offers a comprehensive introduction to curatorial work within a museum setting that bridges fine and decorative arts, historic preservation, and public engagement.
