The Paris Chapter invites you to discover the Banque Transatlantique. A long-standing patron of the French Heritage Society, the Banque Transatlantique is opening its doors to us on an exceptional basis. Directory member Odile Le Goc will accompany us on an exclusive tour of these premises, veritable jewels of Art Deco.
Built in 1927 by architect Joseph Marrast (1881-1971), one of the greatest names in Art-Deco, for Banque Dupont, the site has been home to Banque Transatlantique since 2000.
The entrance gate, the staircase banister, and the elevator grate are the work of ironworker Subes. Various marbles cover the common areas The director’s offices and reception rooms are panelled. The boardroom is decorated with marouflaged canvases, while the dining room features elegant paintings on wood. The furniture in these and the vault have remained unchanged.
In order to preserve this fine heritage, Banque Transatlantique has had these items listed on the Inventaire Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques in 2012.
This is a French language visit.
