FHS Forest Restoration Fund

France’s cultural heritage is reflected not only in its monuments and historic sites, but also in the landscapes that give them their character and context. France’s forests are living heritage. They shape historic landscapes, protect biodiversity, inspire artists and travelers, and are woven into the history of the villages, monuments, and cultural treasures that French Heritage Society has worked to preserve for more than four decades.
As devastating wildfires continue to impact France, recovery will take years – not simply to replace trees, but to restore the landscapes, ecosystems, and natural heritage that define so much of France’s identity.

Through the French Heritage Society Forest Restoration Fund, FHS will support carefully selected forest restoration projects that preserve France’s natural and cultural heritage.  Working with our trusted heritage partner, la Fondation du patrimoine, FHS will select and support projects that align with our mission and grantmaking criteria.
