Drayton Hall

2015 Grant of $15,000—Atlanta, Boston, Northern California Chapters

Drayton Hall is a prime example of the ties that connect France and America. A National Historic Landmark, owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and operated by the Drayton Hall Preservation Trust in Charleston. By way of its connections to Andre Michaux, the Duc de la Rochefoucauld-Liancourt, Philip Noisette, and others, it tells of Franco-American connections that have shaped not just Charleston but the nation.

Restoration: Restoration of the two-tiered front portico, the first of its kind in America, which is endangered and currently inaccessible to visitors.
