|Meet sculptor and photographer Léo Caillard of MTArt Agency for a live discussion from the artist’s studio in Paris via Zoom.
Léo Caillard lives and works in Paris. Fascinated by the notion of time, he discovered the need for a conceptual and artistic response to this principle. He graduated from Les Gobelins in 2006 and left for the United States soon after to study the New York art scene.
In 2009, he began his first artistic projects in relation to time at the Louvre with Art Game, a series of photographs evoking the relationship between digital and classical art. Two years later, he began his work Hispters in Stone with casts of ancient and classic sculptures from the RMN-Grand Palais casting workshop, which he dressed in contemporary outfits and accessories in order to question the codes of representation and identity today (click here to see video).
He regularly participates in renowned institutional exhibitions, for example at King’s College in London, where he creates in situ dressing of the two large 8-meter-high statues at the university’s entrance. His work is also exhibited in public spaces, at Gare Saint Lazare in Paris during FIAC 2019, at London City Hall, or Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport via a virtual tour of the collections of the Musée du Louvre.
The live studio visit will be presented by Marine Tanguy, founder of MtArt Agency which represents Léo Caillard. You will be able to take part in the discussion and ask Léo Caillard and Marine Tanguy questions at the end of the presentation. The event is expected to last an hour.
