We are pleased to announce that the annual Paris Gala – Diner des Mécènes will be held on Monday, May 28th at the Hôtel Le Ritz. The Gala brings together French and American friends to support FHS while enjoying a refined evening of French cuisine and Parisian social life. Our prestigious Honorees for the evening  will be Stéphane Bern and Jean d’Haussonville, two emblematic and acclaimed figures in the world of heritage preservation searching for innovation ways to promote and preserve France’s rich architectural heritage.

The Ritz overlooks the magnificent Place Vendôme and holds the stories of its illustrious guests: from Marcel Proust who wrote part of  A la recherche du temps perdu in his room, to Charlie Chaplin, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Greta Garbo and Maria Callas not to mention Ernest Hemingway. The Ritz is ranked among the most luxurious hotels in the world and is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The historic luxury hotel reopened in June 2016 after a major four-year, multimillion-dollar renovation, with the same grand décor and new restaurants, bars, gardens and terraces.

Stéphane Bern is a journalist, radio host, television presenter and author. He is known as a specialist in nobility and royalty. He has been awarded honors by several nations, including the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France), the Order of Grimaldi (Monaco), and the Order of the British Empire (United Kingdom). He has worked tirelessly to promote and protect the French heritage and in September 2017 the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, entrusted Stéphane Bern with a mission to identify endangered architetcural heritage and search for innovative solutions to ensure the financing of indispensable restoration work, in liaison with the services of the Ministry of Culture in charge of  historical monuments.

Jean d’Haussonville, an international negotiator and administrator of cultural affairs, has been posted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin and Brussels and served as advisor to the Minister of Culture and Communication. Since January 2010 he has served as General Manager of the National Domain of Chambord, a public industrial and commercial establishment and commissioner for the development of the national estate of Rambouillet since May 2012.
