Paris Chapter: Saffron on the Rooftops of Paris – Urban Agriculture on the Roof of the Opéra Bastille

Paris Chapter

Tuesday, October 19, 2:45 pm - 5:00 pm

Event Navigation

Enjoy a privileged moment on the roof of the Opéra Bastille, a break in the outdoors to discover unique urban agriculture. Amélia, Philippine, Bérangère and Louise, four sisters with complementary talents, with the desire to get back in touch with nature and build a meaningful entreprise, created Bien Elevées, or “urban farm house” in 2018.

After a presentation of saffron growing and its adaptation to the city, saffron in all its forms (myths and legends, gastronomy, teints, etc.), we will learn to distinguish the spice from its many copies. Then, during this short flowering period (only 4 weeks per year), we will see a demonstration of morning pruning. We will end this beautiful afternoon with high tea and tasting delicious saffron products. This will be a wonderful breath of fresh air, a pleasure for the senses, and the opportunity to learn about this mysterious plant!

Visit in French. Limited to 18 participants. “Pass Sanitaire” required.

Cost: 55€
