Two passionate creators will introduce us to their restoration and creation workshop for gilding. Bruno Toupry is a Master Craftsman. Trained by master gilders with leaf and at the Boulle School, in 2005 set up shop as a restorer of gilded furniture and 17th and 18th century polychromes. He also produces original creations with respect for traditional techniques of lacquer and gilding. Embodying a real know-how in France and abroad, Bruno Toupry works in collaboration with various art companions for major heritage institutions. Sculptor, visual artist, and engraver, Aline Putot-Toupry works with a wide variety of materials and is inspired by nature and the fragility of man. She worked in workshops for prestigious ornamental sculpture and has participated, among other things, in the restoration of sculptures of the Hôtel de Lassay. With her rigorous experience and artistic craftsmanship, she turned to creation. Last June, she participated in the exhibition “Les Aliénés” at the Mobilier National by working on pieces of furniture that have lost their “value” using an ecological and artistic approach. Aline Putot-Toupry reworked a chest of drawers taking inspiration from nature and Japanese tradition to create a piece new.
