Following the enormous success of last year’s Renaissance Dinner, we are delighted to share details about a very special fundraising dinner organized by French Heritage Society’s New York Chapter that will transport you to the splendor of Normandy in full bloom.
George P. Sape will provide his culinary and oenological expertise and Odile de Schiétère-Longchampt will once again create an incredible ambiance with her exquisite taste and eye for detail. The theme of the evening is inspired by the garden of the Château de Vendeuvre in Normandy, particularly its stunning 18th-century wrought iron gate. The evening will support a grant to help restore the gate, along with other projects selected for funding by the New York Chapter.
Located in Calvados, the Château de Vendeuvre was built by Alexandre de Vendeuvre in 1741 based on plans by celebrated architect Jacques François Blondel. It has passed from father to son ever since and the original décor has been preserved throughout generations. The current owners, Elyane and Guy de Vendeuvre, began restoration of the property and the creation of the remarkable surrounding gardens in 1968. They graciously received FHS during our 2017 35th Anniversary Trip to Normandy.
This incredible evening will take place on June 6th, 2019, at The Links Club with cocktails at 7:00pm and dinner at 8:00pm. Seating is limited, and we are sure that this event will sell out, so please be sure to confirm your attendance early!
