Join the New York Chapter for a presentation by Dr. Geza von Habsburg on the history of Fabergé. This event will take place at a private residence in the Upper East Side, the address of which will be furnished closer to the event date.
Fabergé is known worldwide for his celebrated Imperial Easter Eggs. Few are those who are also aware of his high ranking among the great jewelers of him time. The young Bolshevik government, desperately in need of capital in the early 1920s, broke up all the confiscated jewels of the Russian nobility, selling their stones piecemeal in the West. This is an attempt at reconstructing Fabergé‘s role as a jeweler from his surviving creations and his thousands of drawings in the archives.
