Paris Savoir Faire
Friday, October 6th, 2017
Breakfast and a Visit at John Lobb Ateliers
John Lobb began making bespoke boots and shoes over 150 years ago and the brand’s traditional savoir-faire remains to this day. Each pair requires an average of 50 hours work by highly qualified craftsmen. Director Patrick Verdillon will welcome the group for breakfast in the Paris workshop and provide a behind the scenes look at this extraordinary process.
Lunch at Banque Transatlantique
Banque Transatlantique will welcome us for a private lunch and an exclusive visit of the sumptuous Art Déco decors of their Parisian headquarters, which is listed in the French Supplementary Historic Monument List.
Visit Mellerio, House of High Jewelry
Mellerio recently celebrated 200 years at its current location on the Place Vendôme and this extremely special visit will include a presentation of the company and its jewelry followed by the opportunity to view their most beautiful Second Empire pieces.
Cocktails with Young Friends
The group is invited to a cocktail reception with Lancelot Guyot, owner of the Château de la Ferté de Saint-Aubin, at the Marais residence of Luis de Lencquesaing, Co-Chairman of the Young Friends Circle France.
Château de la Ferté de Saint-Aubin is the first grant project selected by the Young Friends Circle and this evening is an opportunity for the chateau’s owner, Lancelot Guyot, to meet the YFC members.
Celebration at Compiègne
Saturday, October 7th, 2017
Saturday evening we will depart in luxury coaches at 5:15pm from the Bristol for the Palais de Compiègne, which, along with Versailles and Fontainebleau, is one of France’s most notable royal residences. The rich history of Compiègne will come to life with an Imperial Ball that evokes the influences of Empress Eugénie and the Second Empire. Departures from Compiègne back to Paris will begin at 11:15pm and leave every twenty minutes thereafter.
Young Friends Circle 35th Anniversary Program
The cost of the program covers all elements of the trip (except lodging and airfare), including local transportation and one Prince Loulou ticket to the Imperial Ball.
We recommend arriving in Paris on Thursday, October 5th, as the program begins on Friday with breakfast at John Lobb. The group will be departing from Le Bristol hotel by luxury coach (champagne and snacks included) on Saturday for the gala at the Palais de Compiègne.
