With each passing month of the pandemic, our mission grows ever more essential, so we ask you today to contribute to our Annual Appeal.
French Heritage Society has spent 2020 finding new ways to connect with our international community in order to continue fostering French-American friendship, raising funds for our vital preservation work, and inspiring the preservationists of tomorrow. We have launched more than 20 FHS at Home programs thus far and hosted our first-ever virtual gala in November to great success. While we remain hopeful that 2021 will bring the return of travel, we also look forward to presenting innovative virtual alternatives in the New Year.
Throughout this tumultuous period, our hearts have been with the owners and caretakers of the historic sites we seek to preserve. The châteaux, monuments, and outdoor spaces that rely on us are more than just beautiful places – they are often vital hubs of small towns and villages. The pandemic has imposed drastic challenges to fundraising and tourism alike, leaving these sites in greater need of restoration funding than ever before.
Our Education Program, too, will need significant momentum in 2021. With most of our 2020 internships postponed to 2021, along with a new slate of intern placements in process, this year will surely see a record number of brilliant young people crossing the Atlantic for career-defining educational opportunities with unparalleled cultural institutions.
