Atlanta Chapter

Tuesday, June 6, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Navigation

The FHS Atlanta Chapter invites you to an exciting presentation in partnership with the St. Omer Foundation.

François Decoster, Mayor of Saint-Omer, will tell the incredible story of Charles Carroll and his cousins, Daniel and John Carroll. These three grandsons of Irish Catholic immigrants crossed the Atlantic to attend the prestigious college of the Jesuits of Saint-Omer. After their time there, each went on to play a key role in the political and constitutional foundations of America. Charles Carroll was a U.S. Senator in Maryland and a signer of the Declaration of Independence; Daniel Carroll was a signer of the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution; John Carroll was the first American Catholic bishop and a founder of Georgetown University.

The event will be held at 6:30pm at a private residence, with a cocktail reception and the lecture to follow.
